A Girls’ Cottage Weekend

13 Jun

What do you get when you put together a dozen girls, good food, plenty of laughter and a dock spider? A fantastic girls’ getaway cottage weekend!

We went to a cottage for the weekend to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of a girlfriend who is getting married in August. We thanked her multiple times for getting married, as it gave the group an opportunity to get together. 🙂

The best part about a cottage weekend is having no itinerary. No one had any cell service, which meant I couldn’t check my phone for emails and had no choice but to switch off. So the weekend consumed of chilling out and talking, eating, drinking and laughing. My stomach still hurts from the weekend!

Even though I packed up my camera, I managed not to take one single photo. But as a synopsis, the weekend looked a little like this:

And this…

Who doesn't run in the woods without a top?

Plenty of This…

Have you ever tried to act out the word, "beeswax"?

The only frightening thing for me over the course of the weekend was spotting a large dock spider. Oh, and hearing childbirth stories *nervous laughter! *

What do you mean you vomited?!

All in all, it was a great, great, great weekend!

Today’s Question: What is your favourite thing to do with your girlfriends? (or for the guy, boyfriends) 🙂

My favourite thing? Driving around, listening to music with my girlfriends. That’s what we used to do in university. Good, simple times.

Your weekend sounds like it was a lot of fun!

Spiders and shirtless running don’t mix in my books, though. 🙂

Nice one. And we didn’t really run in our bras!

        I didn’t think so. 🙂

I always wanted to be one of those girls who could run without a shirt (but with a bra and sans spiders).

    Dinner and a movie.
